The Lonergan Society at Marquette Univeristy will be hosting the fourth annual Lonergan on the Edge graduate student conference at Marquette University on September 21st and 22nd (Friday-Saturday), 2012. The keynote speaker for this year will be Eric Morelli from Emory University, Atlanta. There will be no specific theme other than general interest in Lonergan studies, and graduate student papers of any topic related to that interest will be considered. However, on the second day of the conference there will be a panel discussion on "Lonergan and Black Theology," and so papers related to that topic, as well as the intersection of Lonergan's thought with political theology/philosophy, feminist theology/philosophy, and/or liberation theology, are especially encouraged.
The panel discussion will feature Dr. M. Shawn Copeland of Boston College; Dr. Jon Nilson of Loyola University-Chicago; our own Fr. Bryan N. Massingale; and respondents David Horstkoetter and Duane Loynes, Sr., doctoral students in theology.
The deadline for submitting a proposal is Monday, July 9th. Please see the attached Call for Papers for more information on submitting an abstract, and contact juliana.vazquez@marquette.edu with any questions.
