Dr. Sean McEvenue, Professor Emeritus, Concordia, Montrèal
Fewer and fewer people consider the Old Testament a guiding document for life. We expect objective truth, but scholarship provides disputed facts and ingenious speculations. This lecture explores scriptural texts for feelings as responses to religious values. Our feelings are both affective and intelligent. Scriptural texts, read prayerfully, evoke strong feelings about God’s involvement and guidance in life.
Thursday, February 28, at 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. (A reception will follow the lecture).
